Cordyline pumilio - tī rauriki, dwarf cabbage tree

family: Asparagaceae

Cordyline pumilio  has a very short wiry stem that bears a dense crown of leaves close to ground level. The resulting clump of very narrow and long leaves gives this plant a very grass-like appearance.
An endemic species found in the upper half of the North Island.
