Calomnion complanatum has creeping stems with erect-to-pendant branches bearing three rows of leaves. There are two lateral rows of oval to oblong leaves and one row of smaller, almost circular leaves on the upper (dorsal) surface.
Widespread in New Zealand on certain tree ferns in moist forest.
