Papillaria flexicaulis has slender creeping stems with erect or pendent branches. Leaves are not undulate, have a triangular-to ovate shape with a broad cordate base and are strongly appressed when dry and widely spread when moist.
Wide spread in New Zealand forming large patches on bark, usually in forest.
