Ditrichum cylindricarpum is a small tufted plant with long yellowish-brown to pale green and narrow leaves. The sheathing leaf bases overlap with one another and each abruptly narrows to form a slender and grass-like leaf. Leaves become weakly twisted when dry. A species characterised by 2.5-5 mm long, cylindrical capsules.
Widespread in New Zealand on soil banks.
