Cyrtopus setosus is an epiphytic creeping moss with branched stems. Leaves are finely tapered and radiate out evenly all round the stem when moist. The upper leaf margin bears single teeth. Capsules emerge from among the leaves on short stalks (setae).
Widespread in New Zealand on smooth-barked forest trees and rock.
