Catagonium nitens forms silky, glossy yellowish-green patches consisting of slender shoots that often taper to fine threads. Leaves have a sharp, recurved tip and are boat-shaped, often fitting into one another giving the impression of one continuous ribbon.
Widespread in New Zealand on dry earth banks and rocks.
