Bryum pseudotriquetrum is a robust moss with stems that are often matted together with very papillose purple-brown rhizoids. The leaves are soft-textured and narrow and shrivel when dry. Leaves have a variably developed border of long, narrow cells, the vein (nerve) is often red at the leaf base and is clearly excurrent as a narrowly tapering point.
Widespread in swampy ground or other wet sites.
