Eriodon cylindritheca is a small branching moss with ovate to lanceolate leaves that taper to a fine tip. This moss is distinctive for the large number of capsules formed which are borne on 15-25 mm long smooth stalks (setae). The mature capsule is narrowly cylindrical with a long fine beak on the operculum cover; the outer peristome teeth are unusual for the family in being pale and papillose.
Widespread in damp, humid forest as an epiphyte on branches of small trees.
